Description: Numerous small, feathery, bright purple flowers spread atop spindly stems, which have many very narrow, linear leaves. Attractive to butterflies. Drought tolerant once established in well-drained soils.

Lifespan: Perennial; occasionally a short-lived perennial

Light exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom color: Purple

Bloom season: Summer to early fall

Height (in bloom): 3 to 4 feet

Habitat: Dry pinelands, sandhills, open hammocks and disturbed areas

Each packet covers 10 square feet.
