Description: A tall flowering shoot is borne out of a basal rosette of hairy, blue-green leaves, and culminates in a bouquet of typical "blackeyed susan" like flowers. Becomes shrub-like if flowering shoot tip is browsed by rabbits or deer. Attractive to butterflies. Very drought tolerant once established. Only plant in sandy soil.

Lifespan: Biennial; occasionally annual

Light exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom color: Yellow

Bloom season: Summer

Height (in bloom): 1 1/2 to 3 feet

Habitat: Dry sandhills, disturbed areas

Each packet covers 10 square feet.
