Description: Cheery flowers usually display as rich, golden yellow; rarely, may be tinged with red. Stems hold flowers well above hairy, elliptic leaves. Attractive to butterflies.

Lifespan: Short-lived perennial; occasionally annual or biennial

Light exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom color: Yellow

Bloom season: Mid-spring to fall

Height (in bloom): 1 1/2 to 2 feet

Habitat: Dry (North Florida) to moist (Central and South Florida) pinelands, prairies, and disturbed areas
