My story

Hi, I'm Lindsey. In 2020 I was working as a paraprofessional at the high school I dreamed to teach in. My degree is in Biology with a concentration in plant biology and conservation. I also minored in education and accounting. I have an initial educators license in Biology for secondary education and was working towards my teaching goals.

This was until my family had the opportunity to relocate to Florida. I knew from the beginning that the move would require me to be a full-time stay at home mom because my husband would have to travel more and without a family support system in Florida, it meant I had to delay teaching for a few years. The first thing I said to my husband with regards to the move was “imagine all the things I can grow!”. As a hobby gardener and landscaper during summer vacations, I was beyond excited to try my hand at all the exotic plants FL’s climate has to offer.

However, the conservationist in me was quickly alarmed when I saw the vast destruction of wildlife habitats....

We’re a small backyard nursery that focuses on offering Florida Native Plants and Florida-Friendly Plants that support biodiversity in Nassau County.

At Amelia’s Native Wildflowers, we’re passionate about making it as easy as possible for anyone to grow their own pollinator sanctuary.

We aim to restore and conserve Florida’s natural flora and fauna one plant at a time.

We offer onsite consultations to help you create an eco-friendly landscape that will thrive in our Northeast Florida climate.

Our consultations include advice on landscape design, garden recommendations, plant recommendations and guidance on sustainable landscaping by incorporating Florida-Friendly Landscape principles.

At our Native Plant Nursery, we offer professional plant installations.

We are proud to team up with another fully women-owned and operated company, Wild Roots Lawn Service, giving us a combined 30+ years in landscape and garden experience.

With us, you can trust that your native plants and pollinator gardens will be installed expertly and with care.

We understand that gardening for wildlife is important, but so is gardening for ourselves. Big agriculture has many negative consequences, from loss of biodiversity to a decrease in nutrient-rich foods. Having a vegetable garden of your own can be incredibly rewarding and beneficial, with access to fresh, organic produce, an increase in biodiversity, and a decrease in food waste.

We'll help you plan your vegetable garden for success, as Florida veggie gardening is unique with two growing seasons and higher pest pressures. Let us help you bring your garden to life
